My Week In Pictures…

We raced through Pisa on our way to a meeting in Tuscany, and couldn’t resist taking a few snaps with the world’s favourite tilting tower. Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco spends most of its time at a slant being poured, so it was nice to be upstanding for a change!

Oh Rosewood London. You’ve brought some much-needed glamour to an often-overlooked part of London, where too-busy Oxford Street merges into the no-man’s-land of Holborn. Except the area is packed with theatres, the Charles Dickens, British and Sir John Soane’s Museums, and is near Covent Garden. Not that guests want to spend too much time away from this sparkling and buzzy hotel. It’s popular with celebs and anyone wanting discretion because it’s entered via a courtyard that is decidedly not paparazzi-friendly.

We love its dining room with seasonal dishes, long wine list, and Scarfe Bar where you can choose between over 200 single malt whiskies while admiring works by legendary cartoonist Gerald Scarfe. We had a meeting at Rosewood London recently, and next time will be back to enjoy the legendary room service. Thank you to Managing Director Michael Bonsor for his hospitality, and best of luck to Rosewood planning their next London venture, in the site of the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square.

There are many wonderful things about running a sparkling wine company, and one of the best is visiting beautiful parts of the world. Champagne has to be produced in Champagne, Prosecco in one of nine provinces spanning the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions in Italy.

This means I get regular trips to both areas, and the chance to explore new regions. Last week I travelled to Tuscany with the team, staying at the exquisite Belvedere Farmhouse.  This beautifully restored 14th-century farmhouse is available for letting to groups of up to 20 people, and was the first place in Italy to serve Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco.

Looking ahead to Saturday 28 October, here’s a very enticing offer to get you out of bed. Ministry of Sound offshoot Ministry Does Fitness is running two Sweaty Bottomless Brunches, offering Skinny Prosecco, Naughty Avocado food and a pumping soundtrack as only Ministry Does Fitness can provide. Don’t miss out: email nina@ministrydoesfitness.com to book your place.

t’s possibly a little early to be planning festive fun, but we couldn’t resist showing off this little peek of Wildwood Restaurant’s Christmas menu. They’re offering Christmas Parties from 13 November to 6 December between Sunday and Wednesday, with a 4-course menu for just £17.95. We’ll have the Gnocchi with Mushrooms, Rocket and Parmesan please. And the Skinny Prosecco, of course. Both are being served in Wildwood Restaurant’s 58 (and counting) branches across the UK.
